![]() i suggest 20/30/7 which will give you more front pull but still get the losse diff feel/quick rotation you're used to. The one thing that will happen when you do this is the centerdiff will need to be at least as thick (probably thicker) as the next heaviest weighted diff or the power will not distribute to all 4 wheels properly. ![]() If it's not enough pull for you, then mix some 50 wt in to it to thicken it up and try that, and so on. I would start out by adding the 10k up front first and see how you like that change. My suggestion for what it's worth, and from experimenting like you are doing now, is to pick up some 10k fluid and some 50k fluid. Your track conditions and driver preference also play into what combo you like best. If your diff fluids are thin, there will be less resistance and it will turn quicker at the expense of power loss and diffing out due to the power being transferred to the wheel with least resistance. What have you guys all found to work the best? I did a search and I see a lot of references to the slayden setup and all, but just checking around.ĭifferent trucks have different gearboxes with different gear ratios and different handling characteristics, which in turn, affects how thick the diff fluids are needed to handle properly. I haven't decided if I'm going to raise the center yet or not. Right now we started mine out 5/5/3 and it's pretty good, but I want more front pull, so I'm going to put either 7 or 10 in the front. My question is, why do some trucks (other brands) run say 30/50/20, some run 5/5/3, etc weight oils? I mean, I understand that each truck is different, but 5k to 30k is a huge jump and I can't imagine that they are that different.
